Bad to the Bone: Photographing Death Valley

Details
Join me for a fantastic workshop of photographing Death Valley when it's actually pleasant weather. Warm, (not boiling hot) days and cool nights.
January 26 -28 • Saturday, Sunday & Monday • sunrise to sunset • $275
http://photos3.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/2/c/8/0/event_61571392.jpegDeath Valley National Park is famous for its extreme conditions: the landscape is “unearthly”, wildly rugged and colorful. You’ll experience giant sand dunes and strangely looking salt flats, amazing vistas and geological formations, but there is more to Death Valley than just the landscape.
We’ll also explore and photograph lesser known parts of Death Valley including a ghost town with bizarre outdoor sculptures, the surreal Scotty's Castle in the middle of an oasis and if we’re lucky maybe a bleached cow skull.

We will spend our time shooting on location for three full days – no boring lectures in this workshop. Dinners may be in shared company or on your own.
This workshop is ideal for photographers of all levels who love being with other passionate photographers and want to leave the details of where to be when the light is best to someone else.
This workshop will be limited to eight participants, to foster close collaboration and sharing and ensure everyone receives one on one attention.

Besides opportunities to capture grand landscapes and close-up details, there will also be instruction on creating compelling travel portraits and how to use off-camera flash creatively. For those interested in night photography, there will be a full moon on Saturday, 1/26 which will make for interesting long exposures and night photography.
Emphasis is on seeing and artistic exploration rather than how to fix it later in Photoshop.
