Eagle Lake via Mt Lassen
Details
This will be a longish ride, something over 300 miles depending on where you are coming from, but gas stops should be less than 100 miles, so any bike should be able to do it, as long as your posterior can handle it. It should be my first ride on my touring seat, so I can laugh at you.
Route will be up highway 44 to the Lassen turn-off at Highway 89. Over Lassen, and then Highway 36 to the cut-off before Susanville which will take us past the back side of Eagle Lake. From there, we will hit Highway 139 to 299 and then home. There is a fee to enter Lassen Park unless you have a geezer pass. There will be great scenery, except for a few burned areas, enough twisties to satisfy most, and only a few miles of rough road around Eagle Lake, but not even enough to call it a goat trail.
Chester will be a little early for lunch, so Aiden will probably be our best bet unless someone wants to go further down 299 where there are more options.
Ride starts from Vittles a half hour early at 8:30 AM. I'll be there about an hour early for breakfast. Hope to see you there.
