Monterey Park/Montebello Clinical Supervision Group
Details
Clinical supervision group for psychotherapist accumulating hours toward their licensing exam. I am a licensed clinical social worker #24171 with over 15 years of mental health experience. Supervision Model: Integrated Model
"Because group supervision involves therapists with different styles and theoretical orientation, we will be integrating several theories into a consistent practice.” Supervisors might take on a role of “teacher” when they directly lecture, instruct, and inform the supervisee. Supervisors may act as counselors when they assist supervisees in noticing their own “blind spots” or the manner in which they are unconsciously “hooked” by a client’s issue. When supervisors relate as colleagues during co-therapy they might act in a “consultant” role. Each of the three roles is task-specific for the purpose of identifying issues in supervision." Time: 6:30 -8:30
What to expect: A small group of warm and inviting clinicians. We will start with a grounding activity, discussion of mental health topic and end with case presentations.
Refreshments: I will provide coffee and water. Group members will rotate responsibility of bringing a light appetizer or snacks for the group.
Cost: to be determined
