Talks:

  • Pieter Colpaert: Using Open Data about public transport in JavaScript
With the iRail API (api.irail.be) you are able to integrate information about the Belgian railways to your web app. However, with this API you are limited to functionalities the server has to offer. In this talk, we will elaborate on our ideas to move route planning to the client-side, giving your application full control of the data, without losing user-perceived performance.

  • Ruben Verborgh: Querying the decentralized Web with JavaScript
In the future Web, we will store our data in our own data vaults.
Apps will query all of data with JavaScript, as if it were a local object.
Ruben will talk us through the Solid project and its new exciting opportunities for developers.
