Inaugural Seattle CoreOS Meetup

Details

Join CoreOS for our first ever Seattle meetup. Our very own Brandon Philips will be in town to kick it off with a great line up of talks, food, drinks and plenty of time for Q&A.

CoreOS and etcd 0.5.0
Brandon Philips, @brandonphilips
This presentation will give an overview of CoreOS' key technologies, including etcd, fleet, and docker. In addition, Brandon will dive into what is new in etcd 0.5.0. Come and learn how to use these new technologies to build performant, reliable, large distributed systems.

Kubernetes, An Overview
Brendan Burns, @brendanburns
Kubernetes is an open source manager for Docker containers, based on Google’s experience using containers at Internet scale. Brendan Burns will join us from Google to tell us more about the latest news about containers and the Google Cloud Platform, discuss why they chose etcd as their distributed key value store and show us Kubernetes in action.

Deploying Micro-Service based Node Apps on CoreOS
Ken Perkins, @kenperkins
When Zoom.it needed a new home, Ken Perkins looked to CoreOS for migrating millions of pieces of content. Ken will walk you through the urgency behind the data migration, and how CoreOS allowed massively horizontal scaling using fleet.

A BIG thank you to Formidable Labs for hosting us and Ken Perkins for helping us organize!
