Chiltern Adventure: Ivinghoe Beacon, Ashridge Estate and the historic Ridgeway

Join us for a rewarding day’s walk through the Chiltern Hills, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty known for rolling chalk hills and stunning views.
Starting from an historic market town dating back to the Domesday Book, the route explores a landscape rich in history. Highlights include Ivinghoe Beacon, featured in The Avengers and The Saint, with views to the 147-metre white lion chalk figure. We’ll walk stretches of The Ridgeway, one of Britain’s oldest roads, and pass through Ashridge Estate, with its ancient woodland, abundance of bluebells and Bridgewater Monument.
The route also skirts Aldbury, known for its traditional cottages and village green, before finishing in Berkhamsted with the option of a well-earned drink or two at a beautiful local pub.

Ascent: 350 metres
Duration: 6 hours walking
Grade: Intermediate, along good paths, with some short ups and downs.

CANCELLING/REFUNDS
If you can no longer join the hike, please message the Host listed on here, and update your RSVP status to 'Not going', to allow others to take your place. If the hike is full, and you have messaged us and have changed your RSVP to 'Not going', we will refund you, less than the PayPal/Meetup fees. To obtain this, please email info@aaalondongroup.com after the event, with the email address you use on your PayPal account and transaction reference. If the hike is not full, unfortunately we will not be able to provide any refund.
