Canary Wharf to Walthamstow: Wetlands, Docks, Mills & Hidden London

DESCRIPTION
Join us for a varied East London hike taking us from the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf through a surprisingly green and historic side of London, finishing in Walthamstow.
We’ll follow waterways, docks and old industrial landscapes through Eden Dock and Limehouse, passing the historic House Mill and Three Mills before heading into the Olympic park and Lea Valley and across Hackney Marshes. From there we’ll continue towards the beautiful Walthamstow Wetlands before finishing at Big Penny Social in Walthamstow, where we can stop for a well-earned drink and/or food.
Expect a mixture of canals, riverside paths, marshland, wetlands, industrial heritage and some of London’s less obvious green spaces, with plenty to see along the way. It’s a great opportunity to explore a different side of East London while getting a decent day’s walking in.

PROGRAMME
Meeting Point: Canary Wharf Jubilee Station at 11:00.
Ending: Big Penny Social (Blackhorse Road Victoria Line) 17:00-18:00ish

COST
The cost is £12 per person for hike only.
Once you’ve RSVP’d, check the private comments section of this Meetup event for the invitation link to join the WhatsApp group. This is where we’ll share updates, and answer questions (particularly if I’m temporarily unavailable). I’ll share my live location on the day, return train times, and group photos after the event.

HIKE INCLUDES

• Guided Hike planned and led by experienced AAA leader who is Lowland leader qualified, Wilderness First Aid qualified, Summer Mountain Leader trained.

• Entrance fees to any attractions you wish to visit

• Waterproof jacket and trousers (Please no jeans!)
• Water [2L recommended]
• Warm/Windproof layer, e.g. Down/Primaloft/Fleece

CANCELLING/REFUNDS
If you can no longer join the event, please message the host and update your RSVP status on MeetUp to 'Not going', to allow others to take your place. If the event sells out, and you have messaged us and have changed your RSVP to 'Not going', please email us on [[info@aaalondongroup.com](mailto:info@aaalondongroup.com)](mailto:info@aaalondongroup.com) after the event date, requesting a refund, including your PayPal email address, so we can locate the payment. Unfortunately, as PayPal retains the original transaction fee, we cannot refund this. If the hike is not full, we are sorry, we are unable to issue a refund.
