DESCRIPTION
This is a beautiful part of Sussex, with fantastic views, quaint villages, rolling hills, wild flowers and ancient hill carvings. There will be a delightful mix of walking terrains - along an inland reservoir, over arable fields, a few steep climbs as we walk on remote paths towards the sea for a well deserved swim.
In the morning, we will pass Arlington reservoir and walk onto the Long Man of Wilmington (where we will have a picnic lunch), then drop down to Alfriston for coffee and cake. We will then head onwards on less known paths over arable fields for a sea swim at Bishopstone in Seaford Bay.
There is a yacht club for refreshments on the beach, for cold refreshments before we catch the train back to London.
It will be a glorious day out – hopefully with sun on our backs as we meander across the south downs.
ps. My walks make time to enjoy the views, take in local history, and look at interesting buildings along the way.
