HIKE DESCRIPTION
Starting at Holmwood Station, we’ll follow quiet lanes and woodland paths before climbing steadily through ancient forest to Leith Hill, the highest point in Southeast England. On clear days, the summit offers sweeping views from London to the South Downs.
The route continues along the Greensand Way, descending through shaded woodland before rising again to Holmbury Hill, where another vast panorama awaits. From there, we drop into Holmbury St Mary, a quintessential English village, perfect for a pub stop or picnic.
The path then undulates toward the historic Wotton Estate, passing fields, livestock, and the elegant 17th-century Wotton House.
A long gradual ascent then leads to Ranmore Common, with its beech and oak canopy, before the trail emerges for views over Mole Valley, finishing Box Hill and Westhumble Station or the Stepping Stones pub with its large garden, whichever you choose.
