- Temple Island

- Filming location of Band of Brothers
- Hambledon
- Henley upon the Thames
DESCRIPTION
This relaxed hike starts and finishes from Henley-on-Thames.
The River Thames features in the first quarter of this hike as we stroll along the manicured bank of the river, passing the picturesque Temple Island. The Henley Regatta occurs on this stretch in the first week of July.
After crossing the Thames at Hamilton Lock we enter the picturesque village of Hambleden (often used in filming - including Band of Brothers). We then head to Pheasants Hill continuing through woodland and through the village of Fawley before following the Oxfordshire Way into Henley, where we'll find a cosy pub for a drink or two before heading home.
This is an excellent walk on which to see red kites, a once nearly-extinct bird of prey that was reintroduced to the Chilterns, who circle overhead with their haunting cries throughout the walk.
