Discover hidden Essex: Woodland trails, rolling hills and charming villages
Details
Join us for a relaxed walk through one of Essex’s most charming corners, taking in woodland paths, rolling hills and picture-postcard villages.
We’ll set off from a historic farming community that dates back to the 6th century, passing by traditional thatched cottages and open farmland as we go. We’ll head to the pretty village of Arkesden, home to over 30 listed buildings, before continuing on to Chrishall – the highest point in Essex – where we’ll be treated to sweeping views across into Cambridgeshire. Along the way, we’ll follow part of the ancient Icknield Way, one of the oldest routes in the country.
We’ll finish up in a small, quiet village, with the option to round off the day with a well-earned drink at a local pub.
