South Downs rings, sea views and summer sounds on Worthing Beach
Details
Join us for a day of sweeping views across the South Downs and out to sea, taking in three historic sites before finishing on the beach in Worthing to (hopefully!) enjoy the summer evening sun and some open-air tunes.
This walk follows easy paths, with some steady climbing in the morning as we make our way via Lancing Ring Nature Reserve and on to the prehistoric hillfort of Chanctonbury Ring. After lunch, we'll descend via Cissbury Ring, one of England's largest Iron Age hillforts and an important archaeological site.
Along the way, we'll enjoy expansive views across rolling countryside and the blue sea, before reaching Worthing, where you can choose to relax on the beach, take a dip in the sea, or enjoy a drink or two accompanied by a seafront DJ.

Distance: 24km/15 miles linear route
Ascent: 420 metres
Duration: 6 hours walking
Grade: Intermediate, along good paths with gradual ascents and descents.

CANCELLING/REFUNDS
If you can no longer join the hike, please message the Host listed on here, and update your RSVP status to 'Not going', to allow others to take your place. If the hike is full, and you have messaged us and have changed your RSVP to 'Not going', we will refund you, less than the PayPal/Meetup fees. To obtain this, please email info@aaalondongroup.com after the event, with the email address you use on your PayPal account and transaction reference. If the hike is not full, unfortunately we will not be able to provide any refund.
