Summer is here (almost), the sun is shining (mostly) and AarhusJS is ready to get vitamin D and share knowledge with our awesome community!
This time around Jysk has been so kind to host us at their office location in Brabrand.
You will see signs at the entrance and guiding you to the venue.
As always we'll have 2 great talks by 2 brilliant speakers.

Jysk is located at Sødalsparken 18, 8220 Brabrand.
If you're arriving by car there are parking spaces available.
Going by public transport? Take the bus 11, get off at Sødalsvej/Silkeborgvej (Aarhus Kom) and walk the last 200 m by foot.

Title: Server-side WebAssembly with Spin
Abstract: An introduction to WASI (server-side WebAssembly), and the WebAssembly component model, and how you can use Spin to easily get started writing server-side WebAssembly. Spin is a platform- and language-agnostic framework for developing event-driven functions with an incredible startup time, and performance. This talk will introduce you to Spin and server-side WebAssembly, using JavaScript and TypeScript. We’ll build a full-stack application during the talk.
Speaker: Mikkel Mørk Hegnhøj
Bio: Mikkel, works at Fermyon, where he leads the product and developer relationships team. He has built developer tools and cloud product for the last 10 years, most of the time at Microsoft. For the two years, WebAssembly has been the thing he is mainly engaged in. Fermyon have created multiple open-source project: Spin, and SpinKube, as well as a public cloud offering: Fermyon Cloud.
Title: Taking Ownership of Your Application
Abstract: A talk on taking application ownership, by highlighting certain challenges in a real life app, and then showing how they’ve been mitigated and improved. The goal is to promote knowledge sharing about technical decisions that have improved the app quality, as well as the developer experience.
Speakers: Benjamin Vølund
Bio: Benjamin is a Software Engineer at Jysk and has been working with frontend development for the past 3 years. His primary project at JYSK has been developing a modern POS system for all the stores, using ReactJs, Tailwind CSS and more. He’s also very passionate about UX design, and spends a lot of his spare time learning new skills and technologies.
