“Relationship represents the greatest challenge, for it is only in relationship that unresolved problems still existing within the individual psyche are affected and activated - the friction that arises out of relating with others can be a sharp instrument of purification and self-recognition if one is inclined to use it.”

“One’s fulfillment in relationship is a much-neglected yardstick for one’s own development. Relationship with others is a mirror of one’s own state and thus a direct help to one’s self-purification. Conversely, only by thorough self-honesty and self-facing can relationships be sustained, can feelings expand, and contact blossom in long-term relationships.”

“… increasing bliss depends entirely on how the two relate to one another. Are they aware of the direct relationship between enduring pleasure and inner growth? Do they use the inevitable difficulties in the relationship as yardsticks for their own inner difficulties? Do they communicate in the deepest, most truthful, self-revealing way, sharing their inner problems, helping each other? The answers will determine whether the relationship falters, dissolves, stagnates - or blossoms.”

Gay joined the Pathwork in 1965 and was present at many of the original lecture presentations given by the Guide through Eva Pierrakos. She was taught by Eva who delivered the Pathwork teachings over a period of 22 years. Gay is a Pathwork© Helper, a long time member of the Continuing Studies Class, as well as a Community Elder and Leader. She is a past President Of The Board Of Directors of the NYRP and continues as a Board Member.
