Saturday, November 19th, Time: 10 AM-12 PM Join a National Park Service park ranger on a guided bicycle tour that will introduce riders to some of the historic resources within the Rosie the Riveter/WWII Home Front National Historical Park. During the 10-mile round trip ride along Richmond’s Bay Trail, cyclists will stop at several historic buildings and markers to learn about the social history of the home front during World War Two. Tour highlights: Rosie the Riveter Memorial in Marina Bay Park, Ford Assembly Plant, Lucretia Edwards Park, Shimada Friendship Park, Point Isabel. Note: Helmets required for all riders. Bring your own bike, water and snacks. THIS EVENT WILL CANCEL IN CASE OF RAIN. Bay Area Easy Riders who would enjoy a very easy, informative Ranger led ride are invited to RSVP on this site. We will meet outside the Richmond BART.(take elevator to upstairs). It is about two miles from BART to starting point of this ride that begins at Crane Plaza 1414 Harbour Way. The ride itself is 10 miles RT with another couple to BART..total ride is 14 miles, easy paced flat ride and perfect for beginners. Please arrive at BART on time...we roll promptly at 9:40 a.m. from there to meet with the Ranger Lucien Sonder. There is an unescorted option to return via the Bay Trail back to Berkeley/Emeryville for those with strong riding skills who wish to extend their ride.
