Writing at The Rex

Bring your favourite writing tools - laptop, tablet, notebook, post-its, whatever works for you - and get your write on!

The goal for the morning is to get some words down on your current WIP. We'll do a 30 minute catch-up of how the writing's been going over the last week and introductions for any new attendees. We then have a 25 minute sprint session. Once that timer has chimed, we go around the table and chat about how the sprint went. These chats can run a little long as we dive into craft topics sparked by a question or challenge that comes up during the recap. When we've gone all the way around the table, we'll do a second sprint followed by a second chat and so on until we get to the end of the session.

There are a limited number of plug-ins available, and wifi is accessible.

A word of warning: this is not the place or time to bring up current politics, religion, or other controversial topics (eg the great pantser vs plotter, or Mac vs PC debates!) unless it's a specific exploration of your project's theme. Leave that for your social media. You are welcome to share your process, but there's no value to anyone to criticize someone else's tools or creative process.

Please be courteous. If you sign up and something comes up so that you can't attend, please update your RSVP as space may be limited and we’ll be watching for you. Repeated no-shows will lead to removal from the group. A no-show for a waitlisted event is an automatic removal from the group.
