Managing Automotive Sensor Big Data Using Hadoop

Sensor data from machinery such as automobiles are different in their structure and frequency, compared to what may now be considered “traditional” big data: social media or clickstream data. In this seminar we will discuss our approach in using MapReduce to aggregate, transform and analyze automotive electronic control unit data. The long term objectives of processing such data include shortening product development cycles and reducing potential warranty costs. We will share our initial experiences in this exciting new application of big data.
