November Community Meetup: D. Tyrone
Details
This is a free event, but you must register here via Arts Centre Melbourne.
Event Info:
Dirk’s presentation for AUGNM focuses on their research and sound composition for a digital public artwork designed by Buko Studios. This composition, commissioned by the City of Melbourne Test Sites program, is the official launch of B.A.T.S. (Binaural Audio Telecommunications Systems), a sound research project that blends synthesis and ultrasonic echolocation. Under the B.A.T.S. moniker, Dirk references the science of echolocation to guide creative development and sound design techniques. This week-long exhibition will take place in the courtyard of Brown Alley (near Koreatown) in late November 2025. This AUGNM session will primarily focus on the connections between creative development and production techniques.

After completing the MESS Professional Development course in 2023, Dirk's production has taken a turn towards researching sonic ecology, meditation, field recording, and synthesis.

To submit your track, find the 'Track Feedback' channel on our Discord.
