What we’re about
This group exists to foster community and friendships with like-minded individuals who enjoy both outdoor adventures and social experiences in NM. Whether you're drawn to hiking, backpacking, and sports -- or prefer more relaxed activities, such as game nights, dinners, movies, and local events -- you'll find welcoming company here!
The majority of our events focus on hiking, ranging from easy weekly sunset hikes to challenging treks, along with the occasional backpacking excursion. Each hiking event states its difficulty level (easy, moderate, or hard). Our event hosts are not certified guides however, so you're expected to hold your own.
If you're looking for a relaxing way to make friends, build community, and get out in nature we recommend joining our weekly social sunset hiking series! This beginner friendly trail has frequent breaks, sunset viewing, and an optional tavern hangout afterwards.
Beyond the trails, we also host many exciting social events -- from movies to game nights, sports in the park, dinners, local festivals, Spanish practice, and more -- so everyone has opportunities to connect in the ways they most enjoy!
Be sure to ask an event host about our active Discord server (with hundreds of members) when attending an event, so you can plan and attend get togethers outside of Meetup and deepen friendships.
We hope to see you soon!

(Free) Sports in the Park: Kickball and More! ⚽🥇🎾
North Domingo Baca, Carmel Avenue Northeast, Albuquerque, NM, USPlease Note: If you're already RSVP'd on the other event page (over a dozen RSVPs already!), then there's no need to RSVP here. We'll be migrating the event series to this group going forward, btw! :)
Relive your childhood by getting outdoors and playing ball once again! We’ll be bringing a variety of yard game equipment (i.e. kickball, tennis, bocce ball, hand ball, soccer, volleyball, spike ball, kan jam, frisbee, and cornhole), but you’re invited to bring your own games/equipment, too! No experience necessary - we’ll explain each of the games, so just come and have fun!
Be sure to work up a sweat, because afterwards we’ll grab dinner and drinks at a nearby (<3 minutes drive) restaurant! You’re encouraged to comment on this event, else tell us in-person, which of the following restaurants you’d be most interested in experiencing. We’ll announce the restaurant decision close to this event’s end time. The options include: Tin Can Alley, Kabob House, IT Dim Sum, Azuma Sushi & Teppan, Bento Sushi, Tula’s Kitchen, Rush Bowls, El Patron North, Jade’s Chinese, Mario’s Pizzeria, and Vintage 423
Pro Tips / Fun Facts / Where To Find Us:
- Meeting Location: Near the Bocce Ball courts.
- Suggested Parking Location: Travel west on Carmel Ave, past the Multigenerational Center. You’ll see lots of parking next to the tennis courts, which are beside the bocce ball courts!
- Late Arrivals: Don’t feel discouraged if you’re running late; many of the games allow for entry/exit at any time. We’ll monitor the event comments for up to half an hour after the event starts for requests to find us, but it’s extremely likely you’ll find us on the park grounds near the bocce ball courts.
- What to Bring: Sunscreen, hat, appropriate athletic footwear, and hydration. ID and money will be needed for dinner and drinkers afterwards.
- Skipping the Park and Joining Just for Dinner?: That’s totally fine! Please be sure to comment on this event page to let us know your intention and we’ll be sure to reply close to this event’s end time with the chosen restaurant.
