Intro: Continuing on with the peakbagging series. Feel free to join these adventures if you're up for it, but hikes vary in time on trail, distance, and elevation, so make sure you know what you're getting yourself into.

Hike Info: This peak is Chicoma Mountain, a New Mexico 4,000-ft prominence peak at 11,561 ft of elevation and the highest peak in the Jemez. This one is shorter thanks to a nearby forest road, but there will still be a good amount of route-finding and bushwhacking.

Route estimate is about ~2.8 miles and ~731 ft of gain for this specific trail. We will be taking a different path to avoid dragging through downed trees and brush... for the most part. Take the alltrails info as a reference. Expect a good 2-3 hours on trail.

Carpooling: TBD. I will update as we get closer to the hike date.

Note: These are exploratory peakbagging hikes, not typical exercise or slow-paced hikes. The goal is to explore lesser-known mountain areas and reach places most people would otherwise never see. Expect rough terrain, slower movement, route-finding, changing plans, etc.
