Haiku & Art Workshop

“In Cahoots: Veterans & Family Create,” at PLEASED TO PRESENT gallery, 510 Central Avenue, Albuquerque, will run an exhibition that runs from November 4 - November 28 and offer three art-focused workshops, including an ekphrastic haiku workshop on Friday, November 13th, 1:00 - 4:00 PM with instructor Scott Wiggerman. Scott is an American poet, editor, artist and retired school librarian based in Albuquerque. He is a prominent figure in the Southwestern literary community, specializing in diverse poetic forms including haiku, a short unrhymed form of Japanese poetry. **To enroll in Scott’s workshop, contact him at: swiggerman@comcast.net** There is no charge for the workshop but enrollment is limited to 20 people, so register soon, and you will receive a confirmation.

After a presentation of ekphrastic haiku, participants will visit the “In Cahoots” exhibition and choose works of art about which to write (so bring a notebook and pen or pencil). We will workshop haiku, which will then be posted next to the artwork for the duration of the exhibition.
