Kafka Tutorial Study Hall Title:
Handling uncaught exceptions in Kafka Streams
Abstract:
The upcoming release of Kafka Streams introduces a new API for handling uncaught exceptions that may come from your processing code. This workshop covers the different options available to you as a Kafka Streams application developer. Please note that what we're going to discuss is a preview and is not considered GA until Apache Kafka 2.8 is released.
Bio:
Bill is an Integration Architect on Confluent's DevX team.
Previously Bill was an engineer on the Kafka Streams team and is an Apache Kafka committer. Bill published a book on Kafka Streams, "Kafka Streams in Action" (https://www.manning.com/books/kafka-streams-in-action.)

IMPORTANT
This session will utilize Confluent Cloud, a fully managed event streaming platform powered by Apache Kafka. If you'd like to work along with the tutorial in the session, please sign up for Confluent Cloud at:
When signing up for a new account, use the promo code CONNECT200 to receive an additional $200 free usage.
We will create a Kafka Cluster during this session, a service that requires a credit card on file to create (you will be given a promo code to work for free during the session). To create these paid services, you will be required to have a credit card on file, which you can do after creating and logging into your account at:
http://cnfl.io/cc-create-account-mu
IMPORTANT: Once the session is complete, please ensure you tear down all Confluent Cloud resources so that you do not incur charges for unused resources. Toward the end of the meeting, we will walk through steps you need to take to ensure any resources created during the session have been destroyed.
