ACA - Advanced Canyoneering Practice - Utah County - Indoor

Sign-up preference will be given to those ACA aspirant level members (or higher) and/or repeat participants.
You will be moved to the 'Wait-list' if you signup and have previously missed this workshop AND can only attend if the workshop does not fill with other attendees.
This is a FREE workshop, open to all ACA-Canyoneering Meetup and Facebook members. Participation in this workshop is continually at the discretion of the instructor(s). It is up to each participant to fairly and accurately assess their existing skills to determine whether the material to be learned and practiced is appropriate for their abilities.
OBJECTIVE: Provide students with the basic personal on rope skills and basic self and partner rescue techniques needed to descend canyons as team members with competent leaders and mentors. If you are seeking more complete/advanced training, please consider participating in a course offered by an ACA Certified Guide Service.

- L4/L5 Skills
REQUIRED ITEMS TO BRING:
- Climbing Helmet
- Canyoneering Backpack
- Harness (good condition and manufacture date not more than 5yrs old)
- Canyon-specific rappel Device (ATS, CRITR, SQWUREL) or similar device preferred.
- 3-4 Locking Carabiners (HMS, pear-shape preferred)
- 20 feet 1'' Tubular Webbing
- 1-Quick link/Rapide
- A personal anchor system, Purcell Prusik or Personal Safety Tether
- Assorted Length Slings
- Gear to ascend a rope (MicroTraxion, Basic, Croll, etc)
- Gear for haul systems (Tibloc, pulley, working rope, etc)
- VT Prusik(s)

- Participant Minimum Age Requirement: 18 Years unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- We will be practicing indoors at height! Skills will be practiced with weighted ropes.
