New ACA Swift Water Canyoning (SWC) Skills Course
July 16-19, 2026. Northern Victoria Island, BC
This Course will present the ACA’s new SWC Skills List. It is the culmination of a 3 year undertaking to assess available Class C training materials/techniques and develop a list of new ACA best practices in SWC (Class C) environments. We collaborated extensively with reliable experts, field tested many techniques and now developed new strategies to support a comprehensive SWC training program.

PREREQUISITES
This course is best suited for canyoneers with considerable experience in technical Class A/B setting and a strong swimming background.
GENERAL SCHEDULE
Start 8AM / Finish 5PM
- Day 1 Relatable elements of Swift Water Rescue. High flow setting.
- Day 2 "Dry wall" training on SWC essential skill items.
- Days 3-4 “In Canyon” SWC Training. High flow, vertical training.
