Rust - A Modern Systems Language for Kernels, Data and Embedded Applications

Details
/* ACCU 2020 Programming Conference Registration Open https://conference.accu.org */
Rust, a strongly typed language with move semantics, is no longer an obscure project languishing in the wings. It is a serious contender to replace C++ as the systems programming language of choice, especially in multi-threaded applications where the unique semantics of Rust prevent race conditions and allow deeper compiler optimisations.
About Our Speaker
Andy Thomason has worked in Compilers, Games and Data Compression since the 70's. He developed the optimiser for the PS3 and Vita compilers for Sony and has a long history in code optimisation. These days he is writing distributed, multi-threaded Rust code for Genomics PLC in Oxford focusing on low latency data services.
