Derek Jones : Analysing Software Engineering Data Part 2 - A Hands On Workshop

Details
IMPORTANT: Please read the requirements for attending this event before you RSVP that you are attending.
This workshop will present material following on from the previous 'part 1' workshops. If you did not manage to make it to one of the 'part 1' workshops then you should review the slides and practice datasets on Github at: https://github.com/Derek-Jones/ESEUR-workshop (the slides are the HTML files in the part-1 directory). There are some book suggestions on the workshops' Hackpad page: https://hackpad.com/empirical-se-workshop-9tqqPbGKCUv .
As with the 'part 1' workshops you will require the following level of knowledge:
• basic understanding of maths to GCSE level
• fluent in at least one programming language (i.e. written 10k+ lines of code)
This is a hands on workshop and Derek will be presenting further material with time-series analysis and survival analysis being covered in particular.
The practical work will require you to turn up with:
• a laptop with R installed.
R is available here (free):
https://www.r-project.org/
Optional IDE (free):
https://www.rstudio.com/
As with the initial workshops the material is based on a book Derek is working on, “Empirical Software Engineering with R”. Background to the book can be found at:
