About us
This is a meetup group for asexuals, demisexuals, grey-aces and all other members of the ace community, and their friends. Our goal is to help members to meet other aces and learn more about asexuality. You can learn more about our group and find lots of recommend resources at asexualitysf.org.
We currently have regular monthly meetups that rotate between Berkeley, San Francisco, and the South Bay, as well as online book club. We also have additional special events for LGBTQ+ Pride Month, Ace Week, an annual "UnConference", and more.
We also love to see more meetups outside of our regularly scheduled events, so if you have an idea for a new meetup, feel free to suggest it.

Save The Date - March with Asexuality SF at the SF Pride Parade!
Market St & Beale St, San Francisco, Ca, USFinal Details Received - We have gotten our parade placement. We will be stepping off from Beale St between Market and Mission.
• Contingent Name: Asexuality SF
• Contingent Placement: 173
• Lineup Section: Q2
• All marchers must be in place by: 12 NoonTo learn more about the overall parade route, lineup process, and parade safety recommendations, watch the short video here: https://sfpride.org/parade-participant-training/
The wait times from lineup to when we actually walk out onto Market street are very unpredictable, but if things are running behind schedule, as they often are, it could be as much as an hour and a half - or it could be less than 10 minutes from the lineup time if things are moving swiftly. It's really hard to know for sure. We suggest bringing snacks and water and sun protection for the wait just in case.
Also, nearby restaurants are usually either closed or completely swamped with hundreds of orders, so we strongly recommend bringing your own water, snacks, and a packed lunch.

Getting to the Parade
Parking anywhere near downtown SF is literally impossible during pride, so public transportation is strongly recommended. Our gathering point is close to the Embarcadero BART station and the transbay bus terminal, and about a 10-block walk from the Caltrain station. If you will be driving in, we suggest parking near one of the non-SF BART stations and taking BART into the city.
If you are coming from the northern part of SF, the best way to get across the blocked Market Street to the lineup area on the south side is to use a BART station to cross under the street on foot.
What to bring
• Water (Plastic or metal bottles only; no glass!)
• Snacks
• Packed lunch
• Sunscreen
• A hat and/or sunglasses
• Comfortable walking shoes
• Hand sanitizer (if you want to hi-five the crowd)
• Performance-y things that are easy to carry (flags, signs, bubbles, hoola hoops, poi, etc)
• Any ace swag you want to show off - flags, signs, anything you want! (Please note that mylar balloons are banned for environmental and safety reasons.)Other Notes
Most downtown businesses are closed on weekends, so the only bathroom access will be event porta-potties which can have a bit of a wait, and you may have to walk several blocks to purchase drinks or snacks (and still face long lines). We recommend packing your own water, snacks and a bagged lunch with you from home. Please note that once we enter the official parade route on Market street, marchers will not be able to leave the parade route until we reach the other end at 8th Street.
After the Parade
After the parade, marchers will be taking Muni Metro to Duboce Park to rest and relax. Come say hello! https://www.meetup.com/acesofsf/events/315337990/

Post-Parade Hangout at Duboce Park (tentative plans)
Duboce Park, 50 Scott St., San Francisco, CA, USNote: Timing for this event may change based on the parade lineup timing we are assigned - we are still waiting on that info from the official SF Pride team.
This is a follow-up to the main parade event.
After the ace marching group finishes the parade route, we usually want to meet up afterwards to rest for a while. This is a good time to meet up with us if you don't want to march but do want to hang out with cool aces.
The start time is tentatively set at 3pm, although the group that is marching may arrive sooner or later depending on how fast or slow the parade is.
We will post updates in the comments on expected arrival times and any delays on parade Sunday.
We'll have volunteers arriving earlier to hold a spot for us wherever they can find room, so please check back here as you arrive at the park for exact details on where to find us. This is a park picnic style meetup, so consider bringing a towel or blanket or mat to sit on if desired.
If you happen to arrive before anyone else has posted a location, feel free to pick a random spot and post it here, and we can come to you!
