What we’re about
Aching Feathers is a group for aspiring light novel and manga authors that focuses on writing for contests hosted by various Japanese publishers and companies. Prizes for these contests can include cash and publishing deals in Japan, but they’re often challenging and competitive, especially because they tend to have a short submission window.
As someone who has successfully won a light novel contest and has signed with a Japanese agency, I want to support others who share the same dream as I do.
This group is meant to be a place to support and encourage each other through a difficult creative journey. And while the group will mostly focus on light novel contests, manga creators planning to enter manga contests are also welcome!
Activities hosted by this group will include brainstorming sessions, strategic outlining, silent group writing sessions, critique sessions, and more. We may focus on specific contests at any given time, and during off-seasons, host more general writing events.
