What we’re about

[17 January 2021]  ACIM Waynesville Study Group Announcement

As of January 01, 2021, the hosting of the weekly ACIM Study group is suspended; at least for the foreseeable future. Perhaps after the COVID Pandemic has past, opportunities for the Studio to host other ACIM activities will once again emerge. Will trust in Divine timing.

During the interim, I am available for AD HOC phone or Zoom conversations re: ACIM. Questions from beginning students who are particularly welcome. I am also happy to pass-on contact information regarding other zoom-based ACIM study groups, for those interested.

May each of us find our way to peace.

Blessings now and always,

~ LaVon Hartman

*** PREVIOUS ANNOUNCEMENTS ***

 [March  25, 2020 Announcement]

Greetings Fellow ACIM Students!

WOW, its March already. My annual update is obviously rather late!

Our small group continues to focused on the workbook lessons these past months. We are up to Workbook Lesson 165, as of our last meeting. Generally, we have been covering 3 or 4 lessons per session.

In response to the current health situation, the ACIM Waynesville Study Group is going online. We will utilize the Zoom Application so that our discussions and activities can be shared via group virtual meetings(s). (BTW, there is no cost for the Zoom application for participants.)

ACIM Study Group virtual meetings begin Thursday, 26 March 2020 and will continue until further notice. Meeting time remains the same, 1:00 to 3:00.

I will be glad to help students get Zoom setup, just give me a call.

[January 15, 2019 Announcement]

Happy New Year! It's time for an update about the Waynesville ACIM Group activities. There are three of us now that meet regularly. We just finished our first full reading of the ACIM Text. Yeah!

We are beginning the new year with an in-depth review of the Course’s Theory. Then we will dig into excerpts from Ken Wapnick’s workshop on “Rules for Decisions” for a few sessions. After that, we plan on reading The Teacher’s Manual together.

One practical change:The standing meeting time is now Thursday’s at 1:00, year round. (vs changing it 1:00 just in the winter).

A new voice in the discussion is always welcome!

Blessings,~ LaVon

[January 10, 2018 Announcement]

Happy New Year! I thought it timely to share an update about the Waynesville ACIM Group activities ... The two of us (Judy and I) have been meeting regularly since last April on Thursdays at 2:00 PM. We've settled on a format of reading from Kenneth Wapnick's "The 50 Miracle Principles of A Course in Miracles" (one principle each week) and then moving on to reading through the text together. We started Chapter 8 just recently. The Studio is under going changes so we are temporally meeting in my living room. (We will be back in the studio by February.) Due to the holidays, we are not meeting tomorrow (the 11th) but after that - do consider joining us. A new voice in the discussion is always welcome! Blessings, ~ LaVon

[April 27, 2017 Announcement]

Yeah! Based on the interest expressed during the April Open Houses — It’s a pleasure to announce that the Waynesville Study Group’s first WEEKLY meeting will be held on Thursday, 11 May 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00. The objective of the initial meeting will be to map out the Group’s Study Plan.

For Consideration ...

Study Plan: Current thinking is to dedicate the first hour of study to direct review & discussion of the core material (ACIM, 3rd Edition). Discussion during the second hour will focus on application of Course Wisdom. Together, the group, will investigate various subjects (themes) which support & strengthen individual Daily Practice. Study material (at least initially) will be pulled from FACIM’s Excerpt Series and the Lighthouse Newsletter articles.

TBD: Interest has also been expressed in spending a session or two focused on an “overview” of The Course (its three Thought Systems, levels, etc). Folks new to the Course, may find this particular helpful prior to the group starting to read through the Text.

Since we are a new group, we are still in the process of figuring out how to come together, what our focus will be, and so forth. Additional details will be posted after the initial meeting.

All are welcome … Come join the conversation!
