Architecting .Net Microservices in Docker Ecosystem & Taming Wild World of OSS

Details
It summer time but we can still do some learning together.
Our Friends at the Docker Atlanta meetup would like to invite us to their next Meetup at JFrog.
2 Docker Captain Live Talks in 1 Great Meetup!
Join us in-person and don't miss this opportunity to connect with the Docker community and learn from the best in the business.

Talk 1: Architecting .Net Microservices in a Docker Ecosystem by Hamida Rebai, Docker Captain, @Revenu Québec [Will join us virtually].
How to build a .NET Core solution container ready and aware, understand the difference between monolithic and microservices and architectural changes in .NET Core-based solutions for cloud container hosting and they will get an overview of container technology using Docker.
Container technologies have an impact on cloud computing and software architecture. It is considered simple when we think about service-oriented, or microservice, software architectures and the way they can be used to get the benefits of cloud and container-based environments. Hamida will explain the microservices-based applications development and manage them using containers. She will also discuss the different architectural design and implementation approaches using .NET Core and Docker containers and will focus on development and architecture guidance based on two technologies: Docker and .NET Core. During this talk, Hamida will showcase some architectural patterns and container design principles, and conclude by deploying a container as a Docker image in Azure.
Talk 2: Taming the Wild World of Open Source, by Melissa McKay, Docker Captain @JFrog
Are you consuming open source responsibly?
Knowing the benefits AND risks associated with open source is crucial to its responsible use and successful integration. Many developers are happy to consume open source libraries because they fit a need at the time and most of us do not wish to reinvent the wheel. Instead, we want to spend our efforts on innovation and the creation of NEW software! But when deciding to utilize open source, there are essential things for developers to know -- first and foremost: not all open source is created equal!
In this session, Melissa will dive into the details of how the sausage is made so that you can better evaluate the projects you choose to consume. You will be able to assess licensing concerns, security concerns, as well as maintainability. If you are interested in contributing to open source, you will learn contributor's first steps and what is behind the founding and maintenance of open source projects. Melissa will also share what she has learned as a member of the Continuous Delivery Foundation (CDF) Technical Oversight Committee (TOC) about the valuable role that foundations take in ensuring the well-being of open-source projects. She will give you the background and insight you need to discern a healthy versus unhealthy project culture.
Leave this session empowered with the information you need to make an argument for (or against!) utilizing open-source libraries in your current development project.
