(Charges Rs. 200)In the Indian Classical Music tradition, music reflects Nature's rhythms, patterns and cycles. New Acropolis invites you for an evening of Music and Philosophy where violinist Sumanth explores this deep connection. Through a talk and performance, we will explore how our own human conversations have a rhythm; and how certain classical ragas are not just inspired by nature, but in a sense, are able to communicate with nature. The evening will conclude with a performance, specially composed by Sumanth to celebrate this evening.
Born into a distinguished lineage of Carnatic masters, Sumanth Manjunath represents a powerful blend of tradition and contemporary expression. Trained in the revered Mysore violin tradition by his grandfather Sri Mahadevappa, uncle Vidwan Mysore Nagaraj, and father Dr. Mysore Manjunath, his foundation is deeply rooted in classicism. He has performed at prestigious festivals such as the Tansen Festival and Dum Dum Classical Music Festival. He was also honoured to perform at Rashtrapati Bhavan for the Presidents of India and Indonesia, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He has also performed at 37 major festivals and venues across Europe. He serves as the Cultural President of Seilerei, a Cultural Centre in Frankfurt.
This Event is hosted by New Acropolis Mumbai a School of Philosophy which is run and managed completely by volunteers who come together in the common pursuit of Philosophy as a way of Life.

Art of Concentration
New Acropolis Mumbai, 4th Floor New Kamani Chambers, Adi Marzban Path, Ballard Estate, Fort, Mumbai, INIn the rush of busy schedules and endless to-do lists, it’s easy to lose sight of one of our most valuable contributions: our presence. In the year 1600, a Tibetan Lama created a painting to teach his disciples about the art of concentration and the process of working with the Mind. What is the important role of concentration according to Tibetan Buddhism, and what we can learn from this special drawing that can enable us to live a more fulfilling life? Together we will explore concentration as a practical path for inner growth – one that allows us to engage with life more fully and choose with greater clarity.
