Maximizing the Effectiveness of Apps Attempting Behavioral Change

Details

With the rise of smartphones, approaches to behavior change are becoming increasingly technological. Apps for health coaching, diet tracking, and even therapy all rely on conversational interfaces that feel 'human'. But is humanity really what we're looking for in agents of behavioral change? Jenna Clark will focus on CAH Health's research on how we can leverage perceptions of conversational interfaces as humanoid or algorithmic for maximum potential benefit. Jenna Clark, Ph.D., is a researcher at the Center for the Advanced Hindsight at Duke University.
