### What problem or need does this class address?
Periods of change can feel destabilizing and emotionally draining. This class provides practical, accessible tools to help you feel more supported, including strategies to calm the nervous system, recognize when self-care is needed, and build resilience through simple daily practices.

### What will students do in this class?
Students will engage in guided discussion and optional sharing in a safe, supportive environment. The class incorporates:
- Breath awareness and nervous system regulation
- Listening, tone, and sound-based practices
- Grief education and emotional processing
- Exploration of music and sound as brain-based support for healing and reflection
Students will also begin to understand how to become the “conductor” of their own inner orchestra—using music, sound, color, awareness, and reflection to support balance. Students will experience the transformational power of therapeutic letter writing as they create something meaningful through the written word, finding their authentic voice as they express the truth of their life as they write.

### About Your Instructor:
Louise M. Jacobs, RMT/BC, is a compassionate and experienced Grief Educator, Music Therapist, and Instructor, with a deep personal understanding of the grieving process. As a Certified Grief Educator, Louise uses her professional training and lived experience to guide individuals through the difficult and often overwhelming rocky terrain of grief. Having navigated loss as a bereaved spouse, daughter, and friend, she offers a unique and empathetic perspective on healing after loss.
With decades of experience as a clinician in the therapeutic field, Louise combines her expertise in music therapy and grief education to provide a holistic approach to help others learn to grieve more with love than pain. In her presentations, Louise shares practical tools and insights on how to cope with and grow around the grief, empowering others to find strength and resilience in their own journeys.
Louise has also dedicated much of her career in service to others. Her work is driven by a passion for helping others understand and navigate the complex emotions that accompany loss, offering a sense of hope and connection to all who hear her speak.
Louise has taught music courses for Saddleback College Emeritus Institute, Irvine Valley Emeritus Institute, and both Santa Ana College and Santiago Canyon College Older Adult Programs, including Music Arts, For the Love of Music, Choral Ensemble, Piano, and Instrumental Music. She is a frequent Guest Speaker for CrossWood Church in Long Beach, as well as an Active Speaker for the Orange County Office On Aging, and continues her studies in the areas of Neuroscience and Music, Sound Healing techniques, Music Medicine, Biofield Tuning, Energy Medicine, Guided Imagery, Cymatics, as well as a Sacred Oils Masterclass for End-Of-Life Transitions.
