Harpers Ferry (HF): Strenuous 8.5 Mile Loudoun Heights Hike & HF Brewery
Details
During this hike you will climb to the top of Loudoun Heights and
experience breathtaking downward views of the Potomac River &
Shenandoah River along with the historic town of Harpers Ferry, WV.
Nice weather reaching 80 degrees expected for this Saturday so why not
get out for fresh air and experience hiking along the Appalachian terrain.

waterways.

MEETING & START TIMES:
- Meet 9:30 am by restrooms near the visitor center & conduct
introductions. - Start after introductions.

ACTIVITY DETAILS:
- Hiking Rating: Strenuous
- Elevation Gain @ 1700 feet Mountain Class 6 Elevation.
- Multiple stops during the climb.
- Hard packed trails & grounds encompassing tree roots, rocky &
wooded areas. - RSVP only if you can maintain pace and navigate up and down hills & hike 10 miles with an elevation gain of 1700 feet - THANKS.
HIKING MATERIALS:
Suggest Hiking Boots. Hiking shoes can work.
Layered Clothing - UV protection
Hiking/activity socks.
Optional: hiking/trekking poles.
3 liters of water & healthy snacks.
Sunscreen & Insect repellant.

WHY WE VOLUNTEER: Your organizers are volunteers and we are sharing
our passion for the outdoors. We organize events for fun, to socialize, get
get exercise, experience nature and meet cool new people. No bad
attitudes please. :)

These can be caused by slipping or falling off rocks due to loss of balance or lack of coordination; twisting ankles on rocks, brush, limbs, or ice; Acts of nature such as rock falls, inclement weather, lightning, strong wind, extreme temperatures; drownings in rivers, streams, or other bodies of water; drinking unfiltered contaminated water or becoming dehydrated; succumbing to heat exhaustion; getting bit or stung by venomous reptiles, animals, or insects; and my own or other’s negligent or risky behaviors. This list is not exhaustive nor is it inclusive of all risks.
