Welcome to the Active Adventurers 60+!
We have a fun, friendly group of people that enjoy a variety of activities. All are welcome as long as you are 60 or older, live in Metro RVA, agree to the simple group guidelines, and have a recent, closeup face profile picture on your Meetup profile.
We balance free activities and with paid activities so everyone can participate.
Our Activities include:
• Dining out: share your favorite restaurants, and we''ll find new places too
• Happy Hour!
• Movies, lectures, theater, if it's in or around Metro RVA, let's give it a go!
• Live Music in and around town
• Trivia Night
• Arts/crafts and other classes (Vis Arts, VMFA, Lewis Ginter, Dance Space)
• Festivals, Cultural events
• Hikes, Walks, Day Trips, Tubing, Kayaking, share your favorite outdoor RVA spaces
• SUGGEST! We want your ideas on interesting, fun things to do!
We welcome member participation too! Sign up to be an event host and choose activites you enjoy and want to share with others. The key to our success is active members!
We have a few simple but important "group rules":
• Always be respectful of all members all the time whether online or in person
• If you sign up, show up! If unable to attend, cancel early so another member can take your spot on the waitlist. Three no-shows to events you are signed up for may place you on the inactive list. Inactive members cannot sign up for future events and will not receive a refund on dues. Cancellations at the start time of an event or an event has started are consider a no-show.
• Keep event comments and discussion on topic and pertinent to that event.
• We welcome your suggestions for activities, and if you want to host events just ask how-it's easy!
Please Note: We are not a focused singles or a dating group, and we have a few group guidelines that ensure that all members feel welcome, safe and comfortable at any of our events and activites.
