Deeper, Spooky Forms In Science: Discussion on the Tangle of Science

The Cauldron meetings will be recorded, because we're using it to cook up the basis of a philosophy that will hopefully be published. So bring your consent to be recorded and drop how you wish to be cited in the chat, if you wish to be! Your ideas will only be used word for word (excluding paraphrases), if they will be used at all.

We hope for a large turnout, but realize we're doing hard reading so don't necessarily expect it. So in either case these meetings will be recorded lecture style and likely uploaded on Youtube. Larger, more live meetings, will also be uploaded. Edits likely. I have yet to decide how I want to design the format...it's new and we're cooking it up!

Between now and our next Cauldron session, we will be taking a dive into an interesting recent publication. We will be going over the book The Tangle of Science and discussing how and if it applies to metaphysics of natural science as understood from a Kantian perspective.

Questions we will be asking

1. Are informational configurations metaphysical?
2. Can we reason about the form of these configurations in science before they occur?
3. If 2 is true, why haven't we been doing this beforehand? Why wasn't this an intuitive practice?
4. Are the similar shapes/dynamics in strategy of proofs applicable to science?
5. Does (4) belie an underlying metaphysics?
6. How and where does mathematics fit into this?
