What we’re about

Welcome to the Autistic Book Club and the Autistic BIPOC Book Club!
We’re so glad you’re here. These spaces are for members of the Autistic Community, as well as those who are exploring whether they might be Autistic.

A formal diagnosis is not required, you’re welcome if you are self-identified, questioning, or just beginning your journey. Many of us are also ADHD, and that’s absolutely welcome too.

Please be kind, polite, and considerate of fellow members and facilitators.
We are a diverse and international community, and our shared Autistic identity brings us together. We value respectful conversations that honour our differences and common ground.

To help foster a safe and connected space, we ask that cameras be on during meetings. If you’re unable to do so for any reason, please message a group leader in advance. Disruptive or disrespectful behaviour may result in removal from the group.

This is a private book club, and membership is managed by the admin team. If we feel another group may be a better fit for you, we’ll communicate that with care and in the interest of everyone’s wellbeing. Our aim is to be a welcoming, supportive space, and we’re grateful for your help in making that possible.

Please note that our groups are led by volunteers who are not trained professionals. If you’re in need of mental health support, we encourage you to reach out to a qualified practitioner.

If you have questions, feel free to message your group’s leader.

Happy reading!
