15:45 – 16:15 Establishing a Cloud Center of Expertise
[ Weolcan ]
Organizations are starting their cloud journey often without considering organizational change. New technologies and services from the cloud and new initiatives like DevOps will have huge impact on organizations and they can't take advantage if this transformation is not performed properly. Fundamental to this transformation strategy is the use of a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE) to gain leverage across the enterprise for the change initiative. But what is a CCOE? Is it just team of experts who can be consulted for their knowledge of operating in the cloud or can it be more?
16:15: Break
16:30 – 17:00 How to automate security and proof compliance in a multi-cloud environment
[ Danny Claproth - Principal Sales Engineer at Trend Micro ]
In the face of increasing reports of data losses, ransomware attacks like WannaCry & Erebus, intellectual property theft, credit card breaches, and threats to user privacy, organizations today are faced with an increasing pressure to ensure that their corporate and user data remains secure. They are also obligated to address compliance with a wide range of industry regulations and laws, making it challenging to understand how best to approach the problem. Finally, with the advent of widespread cloud usage and the shifting to a shared security responsibility model for cloud workloads, organizations are forced to apply security in new ways that often don’t fit with traditional approaches.
In order to help, the SANS Institute, working in concert with the Center for Internet Security (CIS), has created a comprehensive security framework— the Critical Security Controls (CSC) for Effective Cyber Defense (often referred to as the SANS Top 20)—that provides organizations with a prioritized, highly focused set of actions that are implementable, usable, scalable, and compliant with global industry & government security requirements. These recommended security controls also serve as the foundation for many regulations & compliance frameworks, including NIST 800-53, PCI DSS, ISO 27002, CSA, FedRAMP, HIPAA, Europe’s GDPR, and many others.
This presentation will give you an insight on how a single solution could help organisation cover over 50% of these controls.
