This is a group for anyone interested in meditation and mindfulness practices, specifically designed for while not limited to people with ADD/ADHD Attention Deficient (Hyperactivity) Disorder. As ADD/ADHD interferes with the development of a person’s self-control, tools and techniques that improve self-regulation can be of great help. Meditation is a type of mental training to helping you focus attention, balance your emotions, improve your relationships, and enhance your life.
Meditation does not always have to be in a form of sitting cross-legged with your eyes closed forever. With this group, you will experience physical and mindfulness exercises such as deep stretching, breathing, relaxation and active meditation. We will also be sharing ADD/ADHD related information, resources and experiences. Please dress comfortably to allow you to move freely for moderate physical activities.
About the organizers: Body & Brain Yoga Clark Center (http://www.bodynbrain.com/clark) is a holistic health center offering group and individual classes in Dahn Yoga, Tai-Chi, meditation, and more. Bamboo Insights LLC (http://bambooinsights.com) offers ADD/ADHD education and life coaching.

Chakras are the organs of your body's energy system to which every aspect of health is connected. Extended from the base of the spine to the top of the head, these seven spinning vortices receive, assimilate, and express your energy.
Imbalances in these energy centers manifest as unhealthy behaviors or disease. If you are experiencing some limitations or challenges in your life—in relationships, career, or health—one or more of your chakras are not balanced.
In this series of 1 hour classes, you will learn how to sense, activate, balance and align your chakras and discover a path to a sustained health, happiness, and peace.

- Bowing: A Moving Meditation for Personal Transformation46 E Northwest Hwy, Mt Prospect, IL
Bowing is the most beautiful of human activities, representing all of life in its most poetic form. It is also one of the best exercises. The simple, repetitive motion uses every major joint and muscle in your body, pumps your heart, and makes you sweat. Used by Asian cultures for centuries, this moving meditation strengthens your body, mind, and spirit.
Like other forms of meditation, bowing helps you develop discipline and a focused, centered mind. It is more grounding than traditional forms of sitting meditation, because it also requires flowing movement and physical strength. This movement gets the body's energy flowing and naturally brings up joy and gratitude for your physical being. Bowing is also a great way to start and end your day, because it helps you more easily process your goals and tasks, as well as the daily events you encounter.
During this class, we will do bowing meditation and breathing postures to connect with ourselves.
