Come join us and tune in to hear Harsh Mishra present on "Navigating complex multi tenancy structures in state government"

As part of implementing the Mining and Energy Regulation System (MERS), one of the key architectural challenges was designing for scale and compliance within the South Australian Government’s shared Azure tenancy, managed under a hub-and-spoke model by the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). Unlike a fully owned tenancy, where agencies have greater flexibility and autonomy, operating within a shared tenancy required strict adherence to statewide Conditions of Connection, centralised identity governance, network routing constraints (via vWAN), and integration with shared services like Sentinel, Key Vault, and Microsoft Defender. This presentation will walk through how we navigated tenancy constraints, aligned with Azure Landing Zone principles, and leveraged services like Azure Integration Services, Databricks, and Private Endpoints to ensure performance, security, and interoperability across public sector platforms.
