Dragon Boat 101. Come out and try Dragon Boat Racing.
MAKE AN EARLY START TO YOUR WEEKEND AND ENJOY THE AFTER EXERCISE GLOW FOR THE WHOLE WEEKEND
Come along at 8.00am. You can find us easily, we are wearing red caps.
We will introduce you to South Australia’s longest running club and to the sport of Dragon Boat Racing. Although we are seeking individuals of all ages we are especially seeking to recruit 18 to 50 year-olds to form our new sports team.
We will provide you with a paddle to train with, a boat to train in, a safety vest if required, coaching and an introduction to a very friendly bunch of people who all started as you are, with their first time out.
Come and paddle on the beautiful West Lakes and keep your eye out for pelicans, terns and other water birds as you get a close-up of the houses bordering the lake. Come along now so that you can learn before the season starts.
This sport will increase your health, fitness and strength in a team setting and so is perfect for those seeking fitness, better heath, fun and social connection.
· Come along and bring a friend or two to keep you company. We can’t wait to meet you.
· Your first four training sessions are FREE
· Toilets & change rooms with showers are available.
· Dress for the weather, layers is best.
· Some splashing occurs so YOU WILL GET WET. Wear old clothes in layers if its cold. Dress for comfort not style (we'll love you anyway).
Remember that as you remove a layer it will get wet on the bottom of the boat. It’s a great idea to bring a change of clothes and footwear for the ride home after training or to join us for coffee nearby afterwards.
· Bring a bottle of water to drink, sun glasses, sunscreen if necessary, and a hat. Have something to wear on your feet. Old shoes, nylon runners, sandals or thongs etc. Dress for comfort. Leave expensive jewellery etc in your car glove box or at home.
· We can secure your keys and phones while you are out on the water.
Please let us know if you are coming. Call Tricia 0414750126 or Joan 0439801612.
