Hello Hours Language Exchange – No limit on age/background/level!

Details

It's time to say hello to your new friends, practise your new language skills, and enjoy happy hours.

As a second language learner, I know the importance of practising in a
mistake-friendly, no-judgement, supportive environment. And I am pretty sure language exchange events are the best-practice playground. Not just for your speaking skills — it boosts your confidence to communicate — it is also a good chance to improve your listening skills, especially in a busy environment.

Language is a tool — you can only handle it by using it.

***

How the event works:

This is a casual and friendly language exchange event. Just grab a drink and start chatting!

If you have a language you want to practise but don’t know who speaks it, just ask the host — I’m happy to introduce someone whose native language is what you're looking for.

If you already know someone who can speak your target language, just say hello! Don’t be shy — we’re all here to learn and help each other.

We welcome everyone who wants to practise speaking a language, no matter how old you are, what language you are learning, or your level.

But we don't welcome those who use this meetup as a "dating hunting ground". Remember, it is not a dating event!

This event will be held at: Saracens Head Hotel.

There is a beautiful garden inside. I have booked the area. If you can't find us, just ask the staff where the garden is!

The event is free, but I highly recommend you order something:
A happy hour special menu from 4–6 pm includes $7 beers, $5 house wine, $6 sparkling, and $10 spritzes.

Can't wait to meet you!

Please read our Code of Conduct (RSVP will require acknowledgement):

Ladies, please let us know if you feel uncomfortable. Your feedback is important and will help us support you, support others, and keep a healthy dynamic at this event.
  2. Be respectful to one another and treat differences in opinion or background with an open mindset. If you have been treated disrespectfully, please don't stay silent — come and talk to me. I will take action.
