Near Death Experiences: Crossing Boundaries
Details
Near Death Experiences: Crossing Thresholds
You are warmly invited to our inquiry and reflection. This time, we turn toward the mystery of Near-Death Experiences (NDEs) as openings into questions of mind, reality, and the value of human life. We’ll draw on a variety of cases, including those of people born blind who report they could ‘see’ during their NDE, people who healed spontaneously, and those who reported real world activity they could not have witnessed through their senses.
Bring your own stories or cases if you have them.
Guiding Questions
- Do skeptical arguments provide satisfactory explanations of NDEs or do they fail to explain some of the most profound aspects of the experience?
- What are some ideas about why NDEs differ in content?
- How do we explain knowledge of events that could not have been perceived through the senses?
- How might NDEs inform our understanding of the value of human life?
Invitation
This gathering is not about easy answers, but about dwelling together in paradox and mystery.
You are invited to bring your own voice—personal, philosophical, contemplative—into dialogue with stories that stretch the boundaries of what we think we know.
Let us meet in reverence and curiosity, weaving our reflections into a shared exploration of what it means to be alive, to cross thresholds, and to return transformed.
