Our Next Meetup is THIS Week: "Bot of Course!"
Details
"Bot of Course!"
ChatBots. Robots. Personal Data is exchanged, gathered, aggregated, even interacted upon, and put to use by these ever increasing parts of digital and technological society.
What are the developmental challenges facing businesses in dealing with Personal Data in the bot world?
How do people relate to bots, what is the comfort level, and what does the future hold?
Consider this: ATMs, which got their start in the US in the mid-1970s, have aspects of robotics, AI, and ChatBots. Amazon’s Alexa, Apple’s Siri, Microsoft’s Cortana, and others are perhaps the most well known. A June 15th Wired article notes that Facebook has over 100,000 bots. (Zuckerberg prefers not to call them chatbots).
Banking and finance, travel, real estate, fashion and cosmetics, healthcare, customer service of all sorts, these are just the beginning for ChatBot use case categories.
Robots as personal assistants, robots stocking shelves and reporting on inventory via QR or UPS codes, robots handling waste management, robots devoted to cleaning and hospitality chores, robots as mailroom and delivery assistants . . .the list goes on and on.
On Thursday June 29th the PDNYC Meetup will delve into the ChatBot and Robot world.
Our panelists will be developers and startups, and a special guest who is an expert in the human response and reaction to machine interactions. The psychology of dealing with bots, and how personal data and sharing, protecting, and sensitivities toward dealing with chatbots and robots will be part of the discussion. More details coming soon on the panelists.
We’ll be meeting at the Polsinelli law firm, next Thursday, June 29th, from 7PM to 8:30. Polsinelli is located at 600 3rd Avenue, between 39th and 40th Streets.
