Intro to Outdoor Portrait Photography (Natural & Strobe Lighting)

If you want to practice your outdoor portrait photography skills, or just experience what outdoor portrait lighting is all about. Outdoor photography helps your creative possibilities by allowing you to try positives of natural light.

This workshop will begin with an introduction to outdoor photography and how to set up your camera. We will demonstrate lighting techniques with live model. Members will then have the opportunity to build their own lighting setup and photograph the beautiful model.

This workshop will cover:

Outdoor lighting terminology, lighting equipment, strobe lighting, speed-lights & Light modifiers (umbrellas, soft-boxes, etc.), Reflectors. Camera settings for outdoor lighting, light metering, Cable and wireless sync for strobes. Outdoor lighting white balance, Light setups for 1, 2, and 3 light portraits and Lighting tips & trick.

Recommended Prerequisite

We recommend that all members attending this workshop have a good understanding of manual exposure. If you do not have a good grasp on manual exposure, we recommend that you attend our Photography 102 (Manual Exposure) Workshop before attending this workshop.

What to Bring

For this workshop, members should bring their DSLR camera, lenses (50 mm or higher is recommended), fully charged batteries, memory cards, and a notebook to take notes.

You can also rent a Canon basic DSLR camera during the workshop for AED 50/only.

The fee for this workshop is AED 300 which can be paid by cash or card.
