2-Hour Body Doubling Session
Details
Two hours of group focus. Get together, on screen, with like-minded folks. Ok to use for work or personal progress!
Bring that item you've been procrastinating on. Maybe you know that you have things to do but deciding is a blur, so come and do a brain dump, and the path will emerge. Maybe there's something that you really, really don't wanna - but future self will thank you if you do. It's a whole lot easier to step into those things when you're among friends who are quietly cheering for you. Balance your checking account? Plan out a better laundry schedule, or put together lunches for the week? It doesn't matter. If you need to focus your attention, let's use the pack mentality to help give us an incredibly productive hour.
Plan to stay on screen the whole time. The point is to not wander mentally or physically.
We start with a short introduction in which you give your first name and what your intention is for the hour. For example "I'm Elliott and I want to figure out the documents I'll need to file my taxes"
Once our intentions are set, we mute our microphones, work independently, together, creating a focused atmosphere to help smooth the way.
Here's the itinerary
9:30 arrive
9:35 set intentions
Focus. Yahoo!
10:15 Break for 2 minutes. Breathe, get water, pee - whatever you need and may have forgotten. Deliberately break the focus, knowing that you can come back, supported by whatever resources you gathered during the break.
11:00 Break for 2 minutes
11:25 Recap Woohoo, we made it! We unmute and recap. How did it go? Not a play-by-play story of the session, but rather, how it was for you.
- Did being together support your intentions and focus?
- If your focus was wobbly, is there something you would like to do differently next time?
