This is body doubling with a focus. Bringing the power of community to support us in making friends with money tasks.

How it works:

  • Set Intentions: like Body Doubling, we say what we're going to work on. That puts our brains in gear to focus in the direction of our choosing.
  • Focus (~35 minutes): Working on money tasks: budgeting, bills, planning; our personal money gremlins, whatever they may be.
  • Break (2 minutes) Take a breath; get some water; pet the cat. Do the thing you need.
  • Focus II (~35 min) Keep the money mojo rollin'.
  • Break (2 minutes)
  • Focus III (~35 min)
  • Wrap-up (~5ish minutes): high five! Share how it went. Victory dance, internal and/or external.

The Guidelines:

  • Stay On-Screen: Plan to stay on camera the whole time. The point is to create visual accountability and keep our minds from wandering.
  • Set Intentions: We start with a quick introduction. You’ll share your first name and your goal for the session. (e.g., "I'm Elliott, and I'm going to download bank statements and categorize my expenses.")
  • Mute & Work: Once intentions are set, we mute microphones and work independently, together, creating a focused atmosphere to smooth the way.
