Looking forward to a relaxing camping trip on Follensby Clear Pond.
rough schedule would look something like this:
FRIDAY: paddle in before dark. set up camp.
SATURDAY: possibly do this loop: https://www.saranaclake.com/paddling/follensby-clear-pond-loop, or just relax, fish, etc.
SUNDAY: Break camp and paddle out after a slow morning.
I've done this trip several times, and its always awesome.
EXPECTATIONS:
This is a meetup rather than a guided trip. As such, This is a self-supported camping trip. Everyone is responsible for bringing the equipment, clothing, food, and supplies they personally need to safely spend the weekend outdoors in Adirondack fall conditions.
Weather
- October weather in the Adirondacks can change quickly.
- Expect cold nights and potentially wet, windy, or even wintry conditions.
- Do not plan around the forecast alone. Come prepared for temperatures significantly colder than expected.
- A good sleeping bag and an insulated sleeping pad are essential.
- Everyone should have reliable rain protection and warm layers.
It is expected that everyone contributs to the group:
- Help set up and break down camp.
- Help with firewood and camp chores.
- Keep common areas clean.
- Pack out everything you bring in.
- Respect quiet hours and other campers.
- Leave the campsite and surrounding area cleaner than we found it.
