Schroon River South (Schroon Challenge, Shuttle)

Day trip on the southern portion of the Schroon River. This will be a shuttle trip, the plan is to meet at the hand launch and shuttle a few cars down to the Starbucksville dam parking lot. The hand launch can be hard to find, it is on the west side of the road directly across from the boat launch. The southern parking lot only has room for a few cars so group size will dictate exactly how we accomplish the shuttle.
For those that are interested, this will be the second of three scheduled paddles over the paddling season in the Schroon watershed that make up the Schroon Paddle Challenge. Participants of all three paddles can earn a badge. Registration and associated fees for the challenge are the responsibility of individual members. Difficulty: Easy, total trip distance is 5-6 miles on slow moving flat water.
PFDs must be worn on our paddles, a whistle or other appropriate sounding device is also required. This trip is in the middle of summertime, bring plenty of water and sun block. Please dress appropriately for the weather.
