Jessup River Day Trip

Details

We are going to explore the Jessup River, like the kanjumuk it is also a classic Adirondack paddle. The plan is to head south from the launch and explore the river for a few hours. It is possible to go North, but from research it seems that we’d get farther going south.
The parking lot here is small, so depending on turn out it may be necessary to shuttle a few people from the Mason Lake Parking area a short distance away.
Difficulty: Hard, there will be many beaver dams and probable blowdown on this trip, we willl also be traveling up stream at least one way. Total distance 6-8 miles.
PFDs are required to be worn on our trips. A whistle or appropriate sounding device is also required. Dress appropriately for the weather and have sun protection. This trip will require going over blowdown and dams, wear appropriate foot gear.
